Soup has a way of making you feel good, don't you think?

Now that she is done raising her three kids, Tammi finds happiness these days cooking soup in her kitchen. After a small soup tasting with a handful of friends, Tammi's Soup Kitchen took off much earlier than planned (hence, Tammi's bold move to leave her cozy, comfy job of 20 years). Her new motto is “do more of what makes you happy”.

And she is.

In the spirit of pursuing happiness, here is Tammi's farewell letter to the corporate world:

My greatest role in life is being a mother. I have raised three amazing children who are smart, successful, confident, and HAPPY. Some of my best advice was “you can do anything”, “the sky is the limit”, and most importantly “do what you love”.

I am now taking my own advice, as I resign from twenty years in the pharmaceutical industry. An industry – I once loved – that no longer fulfills me or brings me joy.

Change is scary but exciting! Uncertainty is risky but liberating! I have found the courage and determination to pursue new roads and to grow to my greatest potential. Success will no longer be measured in weekly numbers and rankings but on my unwavering work ethic, my drive, and my own achievable goals.

A quote from one of my favorite books, This I Know For Sure, “Happiness is not an achievement, it is a decision.” After much thought and prayer, I have made the decision that 2015 will be a year of happiness and change for me. It is with great confidence – and pure joy – that I turn this page and begin the next chapter in my life.

As my family supports my decision, I had to conclude with this scripture, sent to me from my 26 year-old son, who lives his dream everyday with faith and a smile on his face.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

HAPPY New Year and I wish you the best!
